Bio Sculpture Gift Vouchers

Recently I have been asked a few times to provide gift vouchers for my nail work. Giving a set of beautiful nails to someone you love is a fantastic present!

Any of my beauty services can be given as a voucher. Simply contact me with your requirements and I will provide via email or post a voucher. The cost of the voucher is the same as the price of the service listed on my services page.

The receiver of the gift just needs to contact me to book themselves in and then present the gift voucher to me when I see them.

Alternatively you might be planning a surprise! If you would like me to appear as a surprise gift to someone special, again just contact me and we can discuss the arrangements!

Advantages of Mobile Nails

Many ladies who like their hair and nails done go to a salon. They feel pampered and enjoy the social interaction with the members of the salon. Finding a good mobile therapist will make you feel the same and better as their are many advantages of booking in a mobile beauty therapist to do your nails.

Salons have to pay allot more overheads including rent, rates, wages, national insurance, bills etc. To cover all of this they have to inflate their prices. Typically salons charge £35 plus for Bio Sculpture Overlays. Mobile therapists have none of these overheads, but do have the additional cost of motoring costs and therapist insurance. In comparison I charge £25 (at time of writing) for a set of Bio Sculpture Gel Overlays. Making a great saving for you over a salon price.

Most of us lead very busy lives, and responsibilities like children (and the other half!) that keep us housebound. Finding a babysitter so that you can visit a salon can be a pain. Mobile therapists like myself visit you in the comfort of your home and I'm quite used to children running round whilst I professionally finish your nails. Booking a mobile nail technician can fit perfectly around your busy life.

Quickly most of my clients become my friends! Employing a mobile technician ensures you get the same person every time to do your nails, and a relationship is built around that. This not only helps us get along better but it also helps me learn how to finish your nails to suit you. your more likely to get a consistent good finish to your requirements when you build a relationship with a mobile therapist.

Some customers are worried perhaps that a mobile therapist will not be able to offer as good a finish as a salon nail technician. This is simply not the case, in fact the reverse is true! Most mobile nail technicians come from a salon background, have the same training and many years of salon experience. It is the fact that they are so good at what they do that has enabled them to leave the salon environment and make a bit more money than the very low wage of a salon therapist.

If you have any concerns about having me visit your home and finish your nails please don't hesitate to contact me. I like to think I'm extremely friendly and very approachable!

How long does Bio Sculpture Last?

Most of my clients agree that the long lasting finish that Bio Sculpture Gel gives is worth every penny! The majority of my clients book in to have infills done about 3 weeks from their last appointment. Every ones nails grow at different speeds, due to genetic differences and also varying levels of health and fitness. It is well known that a healthy body and mind relates closely to strong growth of hair and nails.

Nail polish is and always has been a pain. You ll apply it and then quite often by the end of the day it has already started to chip, needing a re coat. Bio Sculpture provides a long lasting strong finish to your nails, that lets them breath and keeps them healthy. The gel is easily removed by simply soaking in a special liquid.

Also it depends on how much money you command! Ladies who always want perfect nails, will often come back every 2 weeks, where others will make a set last them 4 weeks! Rarely have I seen a set of nails Ive done ship or lift, the only imperfection after a few weeks is where the nail has grown and a gap is visible in front of the cuticle.

Website wallpaper

Perhaps I stare at my website a little bit to long, but it start to look a little bit bland, plain, dull. It had lots of white space either side which looked empty and unattractive. After looking at a number of websites, I started to notice a trend in the websites I liked the look of. It was a modern, quite busy background and a solid colour background in the middle.

From then I had a vision of what I wanted, of course it had to be pink! I found this retro, vintage pattern on another site offering free graphics. It had to be adapted to make it work as a background, but I think it works quite well. Some how it seems to make the content stand out a little bit more, least I think so! I'm very pleased with myself!

Bio Sculpture Colour Range

Currently I'm working on a page that displays all the colour's that Bio Sculpture Gel comes in. Whilst researching I was shocked at just how many colour's that they do offer.

Its impossible to stock every colour, well not impossible but certainly not on my budget! If one of my clients wants one of the colour's listed that I don't have then I will consider buying it for them. Check out the progress on my Bio Sculpture Gel Colour Range page.

As ever if you can give me any feedback on my website id love to hear it, good or bad.

Facebook and Twitter me!

Ive just added a social networking/bookmarking page for my Bio Sculpture website. There is only three options on it at the minute. The first posts my website onto your Facebook wall, this then pops up on all your friends news feed :) The Twitter links helps you follow me on Twitter and also to quickly update your Twitter to add a comment and link to my website :)

Most of my customers are extremely happy with my work and show it
by continually coming back to me. This is fantastic, but id like to ask them to spend a minute or two to promote me and try and get me some more work. It isn't easy being a mobile nail technician, the travelling costs and the cost of the product really eats into my profits.

Simply by spreading the word by mouth or on Facebook and Twitter will help me stay mobile so I can keep offering you a great service!

Cherry Liquor for winter

Ive already written a blog post on Bio Sculpture Soaring Dove, which is a new grey colour intorduced in the Autumn. I liked it so much I put it on my own nails!

The other new colour they are offer is a lovely deep purple/red called cherry liquor. This is an easy to wear, rish, warm winter colour that will suite a wide variety of skin tones. See the photo below for an idea of the colour.

Jewels not Tools

Here are some helpful tips to maintain your nails.

Keep your nails shiny by removing the old top coat with the Nail Polish Remover from Bio Sculpture. Every three days apply a new coat of Bio Sculpture High Gloss Top Coat.

Gardeners and outdoor workers should invest in a pair of gardening gloves. Gloves will prevent dirt from getting underneath your fingernails and will help prevent scratches to the surface of your nail

When opening drink cans or any other lid, do not use your nails! Use a coin or spoon, or the flesh of your finger as a last resort!

Take care when opening car doors use the side of your fingers. If your hand slips your nails can catch and cause breaks/damage!

Looking after your nails

Covered in washing up liquid, coated with chemicals and abused daily for a variety of applications. Everything from being used as a scraper to giving pleasure in the bedroom! There is no wonder after all that our finger nails are susceptible to breaking. Hot baths and a lack of humidity in the air can also cause our poor nails to peel, crack and split.

Broken nails can cause considerably pain and irritation. Here are some ideas to shorten the time it takes for your nails to heal and to keep your them in good health.

Broken nails should be trimmed quickly with nail clippers, if your nail does get broken, cut your nail right back as this will prevent the break or split from progressing along the rest of your nail. Broken extensions can be easily fixed by your nail technician.

If the nail is torn and raw, consider covering the nail in a plaster after first applying anti bacterial solution to prevent infection. For a less serious split, no plaster is necessary and the heat and moisture that a plaster adds could be detrimental for the health of your nails.

When clipping nails, cut them straight across. Rounding the edges of your nail can potentially cause an ingrown nail.

When doing the washing up or other household chores, wear gloves. Heavy cotton gloves are preferable as they are breathable. Only wear rubber or vinyl gloves for wet work like cleaning. Cotton gloves also absorb any moisture which is great for the health of your nails.

Regularly apply hand cream or plain petroleum jelly, hand creams that contain 10% urea are ideal. Trapping and protecting the natural moisture of the nails will make them less brittle.

Seldom does a broken nail require medical attention. However serious injuries such as fingertips being shut in a car door should be considered carefully. If you are in extreme pain or see any symptoms of swelling, infection or excess blood make sure you are treated by a qualified medical professional. Consult a doctor if you see blood under your nails, if the pressure is not released it can damage the root of the nail. Don't be alarmed if your nail goes black, it probably looks worse than it is!

Eating healthily and exercising improves the health of all parts of your body including your nails. Biotin is a vitamin available at most chemist which has been shown to strengthen nails, but do expect immediate results, it may take six months to see results.

The Boyfriends Mum

Usually im very confident when working with a new client, and finding a bio sculpture nail finish that suits their tastes. All of my clients leave me thrilled with their new nails and how it makes them feel. After having bio sculpture applied to their nail, they are reluctant to have anything else.

However imagine my horror when my boyfriend's mother asked me to do her nails! My confidence waned some what, and I found myself feeling anxious about the scenario! Luckily she is a lovely women and my boyfriend hung about making irritating jokes continually which relieved some of my tension.

She was no different to the rest of my clients surprisingly! We spent a short while deciding what we would do with her nails, and I then took just under an hour applying and finishing the product on her nails. They looked great! She is thrilled and looking forward to showing them off to the fullest on her holiday next week.

Confronting the most challenging of clients for a mobile nail technician has grown my confidence further, who will be my next challenge! Here is a picture of her finished gel nails in a french nail polish style.

My Nails: Bio Sculpture Grey

What colour does a Nail Technician put on her own nails? Its quite important, often my Bio Sculpture clients tend to look at my nails as an indication of how good my work will be. Also it inspires them and helps them choose what colour to put on their own nails.

For the last few years I've consistently had Bio Sculpture Gel on my nails, I feel naked without Gel on them! Its important to me what colour my nails are and making them different and stand out each time is a bit of a challenge. Today I decided to try Bio Sculpture number 98, also known as "Soaring Dove" as you can see on the right. Grey isn't a colour that is often seen on a girls nails, but it makes me feel trendy and modern, it is certainty a different feeling to wearing bright red!

Have a good look on my photo page for more ideas on what colour to put on your nails. Being different makes you feel unique and special, so don't be shy, be creative. I'm very happy to help you create your own unique style, using colours, glitter and gems.

Here is a picture of my current nail finish!

My Bio Sculpture website

Recently I came across another beauticians website and was very impressed with it. This made me wonder just what potential I am missing out on. It isn't easy making a decent living as a beautician, and finding new customers is difficult at time, particularly in the winter months when less ladies treat themselves.

Most of my work now revolves around Bio Sculpture Gel Nails in Hertfordshire, simply because I enjoy it and its a perfect offering for freelance, mobile work as a beautician. The only real expense to the mobile Bio Sculpture Nail Technician in Hertfordshire is the price of the gel itself and perhaps the cost of marketing materials. Other than word of mouth, the mobile beautician would get business cards and leaflets printed and start distributing them. Adverts in the yellow pages and local newspaper are expensive and haven't really brought me much return.

Websites can be very cheap or very expensive. Its quite possible to create your own website with just a little basic IT knowledge. This however I found to be very frustrating, and I just wasn't happy with its unprofessional look, and had little confidence that it would get me any work. Fortunately my boyfriend is a IT professional, so with a few sweet words and a home cooked meal or two he agreed to do the work.

Amazingly it did not take that long for him to complete my website as you see it now. I'm extremely pleased with it, he admits he isn't much of a designer and more of a programmer, but I think he has done a nice job! The fact that the design matches my business card design is fantastic! The website has only been running for a short period of time, and Ive already gained new Bio Sculpture Gel clients from it. With further promotion on line, and link building I'm told that I should get allot more happy nail clients from my website, here's hoping!
